About Fornelos Design & Build

I cant exactly say where it all began ..... but what I do know is that the foundation of what came to be was the result of a very hard working Portuguse family. Son to a father from a long legacy of traditional craftsman carpenters, I slowly began to learn the trade at a very young age, unwillingly at times! Summers, weekends and after school in my fathers workshop, my father began to mold the footstone of what would become the 1st generation of Fornelos carpenters here in the United states. Not knowing of course at a young age what to do with the trade of course! My mind would wander with imagination and I soon found myself in my teens persuing the arts of graphic design, drafting and shortly after photography. It wasn't until a few years after graduating college that I decided to renew the trade my father had given me and began to work in the industry. After gaining another 12 years of experience in the industry working my way up to Management in the construction industry I decided to open Fornelos Design and Build. But we were not just going to be just any type of construction company! I decided to combine the passion of design with the generations of carpentry trade that was in my blood to try to bring new perspective that was lacking in Westchester County, New York.
